during the match, tp were pressing us since the first whistle. it should be the other way round but we just kena peck back by tp. it was a very tight game as both team wanted to score the first goal. the pitch (our sch's field) condition wasnt too good neither. it was kena of muddy and soggy lor. finally,i found a breakthrough after receiving a ball from a throw in. i managed to have time and space to turn around. i saw my fellow strike partner in front of me. then i gave an timely through ball over the head of the defender and in between the gk and their last defender. my teammate then just slot the ball calmly past the gk to give np a 1-0 lead. soon after tp's kickoff,me and my strike partner pressure them and my partner managed to intercept the ball and he tried his luck in 35 yards and the ball flew over the head of gk who dive full stretch. 2-0 within the space of 1min. it was a blow for tp. then in the 45th min, we have a corner and from the resulting corner...it found my teammate who just came on 15mins ago and headed into the top corner. 3-0 to np. the ref blew for halftime. our morale was super high as we got a lucky break. 3 goals within the space of 5mins. everyone was happy, including our poly's principle who came down n watched our match. but our job were not done yet. the coach gave a very serious halftime speech trying to organise our team. so when the 2nd half resume,both team as usual trying to cancel out each other. then tp got a corner...we didn't managed to clear the ball properly n i went after the ball which was goin away for a throw in. i managed to get the ball and calmly fake the on-coming opponent. as i was trying to get the ball up the field as far as possible, i went for a 'toepoke' kick. instead of going far, the ball was goin high. when the ball drops, tp's player got the ball and from there on, they scored their first goal. kaoz..it was wasted lor. i noe that the goal that concede was due to my fault. i managed to restore our 3 goal cushion again when i managed to break free from the defender at the left side of the field. the managed to body check the on-coming defender who was trying to intercept my ball. he fell onto the ground and i was standing. as i thot tat i was through but when i looked up, there was another defender comin towards me. then i notice that my strike partner was inside the penalty box behind another defender, i push the ball forward abit and crossed it wif my left foot. the ball flew beatifully over the head of the defender and my teammate just needed to control it and tuck the ball home. 4-1 was the score and my strike partner got a hat-trick. out of the 3 goals he scored, 2 was from my assist. it was kind of frustrating for me as my teammate cant find me wif their passes. like that how am i goin to score rite. haiz... it was so fed up lor. in the end, i didn't managed to score lor. it was so disappointing. after the match, our teacher in charge gave out the man of the match award. i thot i might stand a chance after such a performance but it went to the hero for the day (hattrick guy). looks like my effort kind of gone unnotice. it was disappointed for me but nvm lar. afterall, we managed to get away with a good opening result. our next match will be against minow SIM on this fri, 28 dec. hopefully i can open my ivp account against them.
